HP cut the TouchPad price to $399, interested?

Have you been looking for a tablet at the right price? The HP TouchPad has now been permanently cut to $399 in an attempt to dominate the consumer tablet market.

This Tablet, the 16GB TouchPad was cut briefly from $499 to $399 has now been permanently cut as you can see above on the HP.com website.

Yesterday HP confirmed “HP continually evaluates pricing for its products and is pleased to permanently extend its back-to-school promotion on the HP TouchPad.”  the company said in a statement. “Now consumers can have all the benefits of webOS-multitasking, Synergy, Just Type, and access to the thousands of apps in the App Catalog for $399 (16GB) $499 (32GB).

What will this new price do for other companies offering the (16GB) tablet?  Price War? That remains to be seen as Android, Blackberry, Samsung and other tablet companies are offering their (16GB) still at the $499 price tag.

The HP TouchPad Wi-Fi (16GB) offers a 9.7″ LED backlit touch display with high-gloss finish with a scratch-resistance coating, Front-facing 1.3MP camera and digital microphone for video chat, WiFi and Bluetooth, and many features that you can purchase separately.
